Do you have an interest in starting a blog about your hobbies, your business, or a cause that is close to you? What about journaling and planning. Starting your own business, the right way? You have come to the right place.
You have arrived at The Writing Cove.
In the beginning…
The Writing Cove started in 2012 as The Blessed Life, except it was not treated as a blessed life. The writing was the heart of this blog, but it was built out of controversy, covering such topics like “Dance Moms, Abby Lee Miller, and the World of Dance”, Easter Blessings”, and “20 little things I like about Fall”, were among the first blog posts this blog has produced. The “Dance Mom’s” piece was well-received (over 2261 to this date) and it was on a roll.
Since that time, the blog has changed to My Ambiance Life, and the controversy blog posts left, well sort of.
As My Ambiance Life, The blogs main focus was on how to write and write effectively. The main theme of the blog was on blog creation and posting, journaling, and planner creation (which is featured on P. Lynne Designs as well.). As mentioned above, every once in awhile, controversial topics snuck in at the owner’s expense every once in a while. It was then it was decided that a change of scenery (new name and platform), as well as rebranding, was needed for the blog, and The Writing Cove was born, but not without some minor issues itself.
First of all, the name. It needed to be family-oriented, writer-friendly, and Christian-oriented, all the things that the owner wanted and needed in a name. There are already two blogs (both past and present) that contain the owner’s name (Tricia’s Baskets (now Home Prep), and P. Lynne Designs. So, that was overdone.
Next comes a play on words. The Writer’s Grove, a bunch of writing tips and tricks came to mind, the owner’s mind, and every other writers’ mind as well. So, that was out. Changing one letter to “C” from a “G”, and adding an “N” at the in of the word, suggests a pagan-like, almost Witch-like meaning to the site, not good for Christians who nitpick. So, I took the “N” off of “Coven”, and made “Cove”. The owner ran into a book issue, not a blog issue with the title, The Writing Cove, but the owner said, “forget it, she will fight it later if it becomes an issue”.
The Theming of The Writing Cove…
If you are coming from reading, My Ambiance Life, it is the same except I will try to keep it from being controversial in terms of politics and topics like that. However, there may be controversial subjects like:
And the #number one controversial topic I will have on this blog….
Drumroll….
This is going to be good….
Are you on the edge of your seat? ….
Which platform is suitable for my blog? What journaling book can I use? What planner is right for me?
(Yes, this blog will have some humor in it too).
“So, sit back, relax, take your shoes off, and get ready to read, learn, and apply the tips I have for you. This is going to be a fun journey”.
